Legal issues can be a real headache. My practice exists to ease the burden of these
issues. Whether it involves personal injury, settlement of an estate, adoption or
any of my other areas of practice, you can be sure that your interests are my top
priority. As your legal advocate, I will work with you to bring your case to a just,
timely, and reasonable resolution.
This area should probably contain a not-too-vague and not-too-detailed synopsis
of the kinds of cases that you are qualified to handle. It would be a good idea
to use as many key words as possible. Key words are those that internet users may
enter into a search engine to find matches. Your address and phone number could
appear here as well, although there is room for them in the footer section. The
section under the scales could be used to display logos of affiliate organizations
(member of XYZ, etc).
The title "Our Services" is only a placeholder. I can change it to anything that you
want. Whatever goes in this space, it should be enough to cover this area. SEO
best practices say that "content is KING", so make this section count. Stuff it full
of good descriptive verbiage that will steer users to this page.
- Negotiation: Voluntary participation with no third party
- Mediation: A third party (mediator) facilitates the resolution process
- Collaborative law: Each party has an attorney who facilitates the resolution
process within specifically contracted terms
- Arbitration: Voluntary participation (usually) with a third party who, as
a private judge, imposes a resolution

Adoption refers to the act by which an adult formally becomes the guardian
of a child and incurs the rights and responsibilities of a parent. At the conclusion
of the formal process, a legal relationship between child and guardian will have
formed. The legal relationship results in the adoptee becoming the legal heir of
the adopter and terminates any legal rights then in existence with the natural parents.
There are two kinds of custody: legal and physical. Physical custody, designates
where the child will actually live, whereas legal custody gives the custodial person(s)
the right to make decisions for the child's welfare.
Custody requires a court's determination of which parent, relative or other adult
should have physical and/or legal control and responsibility for a minor.
Divorce is the dissolution of a marriage contracted between a man and a woman,
by the judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, or by an act of the legislature.
Until a decree of divorce be actually made, neither party can treat the other as
sole, even in cases where the marriage is utterly null and void for some preexisting
cause.
Litigation attorneys represent parties who have filed a lawsuit (plaintiffs)
in civil court and those who have been sued (defendants), in all phases of a case
-- including discovery, motions, and trial. Appeals attorneys represent parties
in challenging the outcome of a lower court case, including preparation of written
briefs and oral arguments in appellate court.
